Patience Kalu will be a 2020 graduate of Grandview High School.
Patience has been involved in theatre for four years and is the current president of theatre. Patience has also been in choir for 3 years and sings in three choirs, including Chamber Choir at Grandview. The activity she enjoys most in theatre is stage managing shows because it allows her to see all the actors showcase their talents and growth. Her favorite high school memory is when she lost her voice at her first ever football game. Her favorite theatre memory is when she went to ThesCon and made waffles and ate oranges in the hotel room. Her favorite role in theatre has been Toby Belch because it was a funny character that she doesn’t usually get to act out. The character also had a lot of lines, so it stretched her acting abilities. The class Patience enjoyed the most was Theatre III because it’s a class that she feels she can be herself in. Her biggest pet peeve is when people lie. Outside of school, Patience enjoys hanging out with friends. If she had one wish it would be world peace. The three words that best describe her are understanding, compassionate, and positive. After High School, Patience plans to attend the University of Missouri and major in Theatrical Management. In 10 years, she sees herself happily living life and traveling the world. Three things on his/her bucket list are to skydive, swim with dolphins, and to open an orphanage. The person she admires most is her mother because she goes through life day by day with a positive attitude. The teacher that had the biggest impact on Patience is Ms. Mokler because she taught Patience to chase after her dreams, no matter how big they become. The thing Patience will miss the most about Grandview High School is meeting new people and turning them into friends. If there was one way she could be remembered at GHS, it would be how kind she is to everyone around her. The advice Patience would give underclassmen is to communicate with your teachers and pace yourself. You matter so much. Patience is extremely honored to be spotlighted as a Senior at GHS. Despite all, she absolutely has loved high school for molding her into the human she is today

Adrienne Hepworth will be a 2020 graduate of Grandview High School.
Adrienne has been involved in choir for two years and in theatre for three years and is an official ITS member at Grandview. The activity she enjoys most is theatre because she gets to express herself in the silliest of ways and act alongside some of her best friends. Her favorite high school memory is when she stayed up late on the last night of Thespian Conference with her roommates. Her favorite role in theatre was Penny Pingleton in Hairspray because she actually knew what she was doing that time, she loved the costume, and acting like a twitterpated schoolgirl was a lot of fun. The class Adrienne enjoyed the most was Concert Choir because it involved two of her favorite things: making music and making fun of Mr. Horton. Her biggest pet peeves are when people take a delicious dessert and then put fruit in it, and when people set the AC to 50. Outside of school, Adrienne enjoys reading, writing short stories, attending church and its activities, and being with her family. If she had one wish it would be to be able to eat whatever she wants and not get fat. The three words that best describe her are loud, genuine, and optimistic. After high school, Adrienne plans to get a job and save for her future, do some traveling, serve a mission for her church, and become a photographer. In 10 years, she sees herself as a badass working mom and married. Three things on her bucket list are to go to New York, to perform the messiah in a choir, and to go to the ocean. The person she admires most is her mother because she is one of the most patient, forgiving, and selfless people Adrienne knows. The teacher that had the biggest impact on Adrienne is Mr. Horton because he has inspired her to not give up, to do what she loves, and he’s cheered her on every day that she’s known him. The things Adrienne will miss the most about Grandview High School are being in the auditorium, running around with no shoes on, and the smell of Mokler’s room and the choir hallway. If there was one way she could be remembered at GHS, it would be how she was the least scary Senior. And how she tried to respect and be a friend to everyone. The advice Adrienne would give to underclassmen is don’t give up. Don’t quit. That’s probably what everyone says, but it’s true. Do whatever it takes to achieve those goals you wrote down in middle school. It’s not going to be easy, but it’ll all be worth it when you finally get there. Love y’all! Three things on his/her bucket list are to be the first of her siblings to graduate college, travel the world, and shave her head. The person he/she admires most is her mother because she is unapologetically herself, puts others before herself, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind . The teacher/coach that had the biggest impact on Sydney is Mr. Montoya because he made her realize that even if she falls behind and doesn’t succeed at first, there will always be someone to encourage you and push you past your mistakes. The thing Sydney will miss the most about Grandview High School is walking through the halls with her friends, and the relationships she built with the teachers she had. If there was one way she could be remembered at GHS, it would be as a leader and a friend in theatre, through funny stories and memories of the underclassmen . The advice Sydney would give underclassmen is and never change yourself for people who are only with you temporarily. Better yourself for you and you only. Sydney wants to be sure to thank her parents, siblings, uncles, cousins, boyfriend, and friends for their nonstop love and support, no matter how annoying and stressful she could be at times. Noah Dangel will be a 2020 graduate of Grandview High School.

The class Noah enjoyed the most was Theatre III because the energy in that class was the most fun. His biggest pet peeve is people calling him bud in that weird derogatory tone. Outside of school, Noah enjoys having fun with friends, and playing games. If he had one wish it would be to make everyone be his friend. The three words that best describe him are Energetic, talkative, and LOUD . After High School, Noah plans to attend Missouri Western State University as a Music Ed major with a choral focus. In 10 years, he sees himself having choir students of his own. Three things on his bucket list are meet Ryan Reynolds, be in a movie, and have one concert. The person he admires most is his mom because of her determination while working full time and going to college while still raising four boys. The teacher/coach that had the biggest impact on Noah is Horton because he helped him find find what career path he wanted to go into. The thing Noah will miss the most about Grandview High School is the amazing people he’s been able to spend time with. If there was one way he could be remembered at GHS, it would be friendly. The advice Noah would give underclassmen is treat your extra curriculars like your home. Alexiss Sullivan will be a 2020 graduate of Grandview High School and is the sister of Lily, Jaxon, and Shannon Sullivan. Her favorite activity to do with her family is baking Amish cinnamon bread. If she had one wish it would be to afford medical school. The three words that best describe her are motivated, independent, and resilient. After High School, Alexiss plans to attend Wichita State University and pursue a degree in forensic sciences. She then hopes to attend medical school, and eventually join the Army. In 10 years, she sees herself as a medic in the Army with, ideally, little to no student debt. Three things on her bucket list are to visit Jerusalem, see the ocean, and build a shelter for the homeless in her community. The person she admires most is Ms. Schaefer because of her outstanding work as an English teacher. She not only taught English, but she also prepared her students for the real world. The teacher that had the biggest impact on Alexiss is Ms. Mokler because she helped Alexiss navigate being homeless for her final year of high school. She helped Alexiss navigate the healthcare system, filing for taxes, and applying to colleges. Ms. Mokler was a true mentor to Alexiss, and she played a pivotal role in Alexiss’s success. The thing Alexiss will miss the most about Grandview High School is walking into class on a Monday morning, and Mr. Horton will already be singing the upcoming concert songs in his brightly colored pants. If there was one way she could be remembered at GHS, it would be as an example of overcoming extreme adversity. The advice Alexiss would give underclassmen is to never lose sight of your goals. Life often takes a bad turn, but you cannot let that stop. Keep going and make the best out of it. In the middle of the first semester, Alexiss left her home in hopes for a better life. She chose to come back to Grandview from Clinton because she knew that Grandview was a community that would support her through her homelessness. Alexiss wouldn’t be here without the support of her community, and she is eternally grateful for everyone who helped her graduate. |
